Venice Network Share (VNS) Program
[NFS server mode]
There are 2 ways to use network disk via Venice V36. One is SAMBA
server based network and the other is NFS server based network.
SAMBA server mode: There is no special program to use SAMBA
server network. User will needs to set up the shared folder manually
in the Windows PC. The speed of SAMBA server may be too slow for
some HD file playback.
NFS server mode: To use NFS, VNS program should be running
on the PC. NFS has much faster data transfer speed than SAMBA. HD
media file playback via network will be more stable.
How to set up NFS server
1. Disable the Windows Firewall and other Firewall is any.
2. Download and unzip the Venice Network Share program (VNS)
3. Run ‘VNS.exe’
4. After starting VNS program, you will see a VNS icon in the icon
tray.
5. Move a mouse curser on the VNS icon and select ‘Setting..’
on the menu by right clicking.
6. After selecting “Setting…”, VNS program window
pup up as below.
7. Each function per menu is as below.
- VNS Top border: shows VNS program version and IP of the shared
PC.
- Start with windows: VNS auto-run when Windows starts.
- Enable Sharing when started: Share the selected folder when VNS
run
- Share: Select the shared folder you want (share the sub folders
together)
- OK: Confirm the shared folder.
How to use NFS server as network
1. Run VNS program in the PC which is connected with Venice via
network.
2. Insert IP address of the shared PC in Setup > LAN > Server
IP of Venice V36.
3. Select IP Setting LAN (Wire/Wireless)
4. Venice V36 connects with VNS automatically and make a media (HD)
network playback stably.
Venice V36 searches in the order of NFS first then Samba second.
If VNS program is running under the searched PC, Venice V36 connects
in NFS server mode.
If VNS program is not running under the searched PC, it will connect
in SAMBA mode. |
